Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Led Side Wrexham React to Failed Transfer of Star Striker Luke Armstrong
Wrexham has been going through a rough patch the past few weeks. After gaining their first promotion in nearly 20 years, the Red Dragons’ season has been different from their fairy tale run. They have only recorded two wins in their first six games in the Second Division so far. While the Welsh side’s on-field performance has been far from impressive, their management also seems to be struggling.
Not long ago, Wrexham failed to sign the Harrogate Town forward Luke Armstrong. It was a huge disappointment since the fans were looking forward to signing a replacement for injured Paul Mullin. Amidst all the drama surrounding the failed transfer, Wrexham bosses shed some light on the same.

Wrexham’s team management has been going through a roller coaster. In the past few days, their legendary keeper, Ben Foster, announced a shocking retirement. Furthermore, the Red Dragons failed to complete the required documentation of Luke Armstrong before deadline day. Despite several attempts to appeal against the failed transfer, Wrexham management could not bring the striker on board. And recently, the Wrexham bosses issued an apology for the same.
In the club’s latest official statement, Wrexham expressed their disappointment in failing to sign the striker. Moreover, they issued an apology as they wrote, “Now this decision has been made, we wish to apologize to Luke as we were unable to complete the transfer by the deadline and Harrogate Tow.”
The statement further read that Wrexham will be reviewing all the circumstances and regulations that surrounded the player’s signing. Wrexham and Harrogate Town had earlier reached an agreement to sign the center forward for a fee of nearly 500,000 pounds. The 27-year-old striker scored over 30 goals over the past two seasons at Wetherby Road. With Paul Mullins’s injury, the player’s signing would have proved effective. However, the latest reports suggest that the star striker will be returning to Harrogate following the failed deal.
Meanwhile, it seems like the club’s documentary series is all set to grace our screens soon.
