Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s wonders at Wrexham are no secret affair. The Hollywood duo has been on a roll with the Red Dragons since their takeover in 2020. Within just two seasons, the two helped Wrexham achieve promotion, signed multiple stars, and put the club on the global map. As the Red Dragons eye for back-to-back promotions this year, the Hollywood duo has some plans for its home turf, the SToK Racecourse.

Over the months, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have turned Racecourse on its head, bringing some vital changes to the iconic stadium. However, it seems like it would not be easy for the Hollywood duo as they aim to give the Racecourse a facelift.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have not shied away from spending in their Wrexham feat. The ambitious Welsh outfit recently announced an upgrade for the SToK Racecourse. A part of the process was refurbishing the iconic ‘Kop’ stand and increasing its total capacity to 5,500 post-construction. However, despite having the required funds, the upgrade seems highly unlikely. Goal reported that the local authorities have permitted Wrexham an increase to 4900 spectators rather than the desired 5500.

That is due to a council-imposed condition regarding the impact of potential river pollution. The latest shock comes after almost a year since the council granted permission to the Red Dragons. The work on the stadium commenced in June with its aim to increase its capacity to a whopping 16,000. Meanwhile, the upcoming upgrade will also incorporate hospitality facilities and is likely to be completed until Wrexham begins its 2024-25 campaign.
