His cinematic endeavors are gospel to fans, who fervently believe that everything he graces turns to gold. But Reynolds’ aura of invincibility is not boxed to the silver screen alone. With Wrexham AFC, he played savior, catapulting the team to newfound heights. On a recent episode of the Men in Blazers podcast, the host approached Ryan Reynolds, asking him about his expectations from the forthcoming Wrexham AFC match against Birmingham City at the SToK Cae Ras. Reflecting on their September game, where Birmingham City scored 3-1 against Reynolds’ team, the interviewer wanted to know whether the actor has begun “sh-- talking” Tom Brady yet. Reynolds addressed his then-absence and revealed “sh-- texting” Brady and David Beckham when they sat together at the September game.

The shocker, however, was the context of their exchange, which Reynolds joked, mostly surrounded around the “failing bone structure and age-related sort of material.” The Marvel actor reluctantly owned up to the less-than-proud moment, yet he could not shake off a nagging grievance concerning Brady and Beckham. Reynolds hilariously bemoaned that they are infuriatingly kind people in reality, and there is nothing more he could hate about the two.

Reynolds doubled down on his aspirations from Wrexham AFC, confessing that, more than him, McElhenney would like their club to beat Brady. Although the actor was uncertain about his attendance for the match, the host asked about who he would like to bring if he attended it, considering Brady had David Beckham alongside. While Reynolds wanted a “black-belt sh-- talker,” possibly John McEnroe to back him up, the host suggested Nikki Glaser, “Tom’s worst nightmare,” who brought the comedic gold to the 2025 Golden Globes.
