Yet, while Marvel basks in the glow of Critics Choice Awards’ golden glow, drumming up triumph for its summer spectacle, Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds was off crafting his own blockbuster—one of laughter—with his ultimate sidekick, Mama Reynolds.

The dream team turned seasonal shifts into comedic showcase at the J.P. Morgan Summit, where they shared the stage with Disney’s head honcho, Bob Iger, and CAA’s powerhouse CEO, Bryan Lourd.

Ryan Reynolds struts through Hollywood like a peacock in full bloom, each feather in his hat a testament to his endless talents. The actor recently took to his Instagram to share pictures from the J.P. Morgan summit with his mother, Bob Iger, and Bryan Lourd. “Those boys are SHARP,” Reynolds captioned the post.

The Canadian artist, however, could barely hold back his cards of jest, intentionally redirecting the spotlight on Tammy Reynolds with a side-splitting detail. “Surprised to discover my mom there,” he wrote before hilariously adding how she pulled up to watch Iger take the stage. The next picture captured the mother and son in a candid moment while the next few showed Reynolds sharing the stage with Disney’s big cheese and CAA’s boss.

After saving the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s sinking superhero ship with the iconic anti-hero, Deadpool & Wolverine became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. And a year later, with the unfurling of the award seasons, the Marvel release won the Best Comedy category, tying with A Real Pain at the Critics Choice Awards. Although Ryan Reynolds was not present at the ceremony, he acknowledged the honor on his Instagram.

“Zing! Thanks @criticschoice – whole team @deadpoolmovie is thrilled,” Reynolds captioned the post before asking viewers to hold their horses for a minute and swipe to the next slide. The next slide shows the second winner of the category, A Real Pain, and the actor ensured congratulatory messages flooded in just as much for the other project in the spotlight. Though Reynolds’ presence at the venue would have been a highlight without a doubt, he nevertheless turned it into a moment of standing ovation, like he always does.
