Markle’s media savviness is clear in the way the Sussexes have hand-picked the events in which they choose to make an appearance. And sporting events have been a constant since the onset. Just a year after their marriage, the couple stole the show during the Rugby World Cup in 2019 as they cheered for England. Despite not following Prince Harry to Japan, Markle dressed up Prince Archie in an England onesie and effectively boosted the team’s morale.

The couple has continued to make a show of their camaraderie at several other sporting events. While this is true for their time in the United Kingdom, as they attended Wimbledon matches together, it is especially true for their post-Megxit era.

The couple was spotted watching an NBA match in April in the United States. However, a simple visit turned into a matter of global debate as Markle dodged his kiss. While this dodged kiss may make it to the most discussed moments this year, there was once a time they made headlines for smooching at the event that Prince Harry is currently attending solo.

When the Sussexes turned the Sentebale match into a PDA event

As Prince Harry saddled up alone to play polo with only his longtime friend, Nacho Figueras, by his side, netizens could not help but reminisce about the earlier days. Although it was the Prince fighting for each point, Meghan Markle had her own way of making the Sentebale matches about herself. Not only would she be dressed up to the nine, the actress chose the polo grounds as the stage to indulge in PDA.

Early on in 2018, the Sussexes proved that they were still in the honeymoon phase as Markle gave the Duke a winning kiss. She followed it up in 2022 when she attended another one of Prince Harry’s charity matches. Keeping the tradition alive can be an excuse for Meghan Markle to pull off the same move at the Invictus Games and debunk the never-ending divorce rumors.
