Royal Feelings on an All Time High as Prince Harry Is Denied a Return to Father
Earlier this month, a piece of shocking and distressing news swept through the quiet chambers of the royal estate. The news of King Charles’ unspecified cancer diagnosis left everyone’s hearts heavy with the uncertainty of what lay ahead. Despite the anxious atmosphere, there was a positive development in sight- Prince Harry was getting a chance to reunite with his family. The rift between the royals has been a wild ride. But now, it seems like things have reached a breaking point where there is no going back.
The royal observers and even Prince Harry held out hope that King Charles’ illness would bring the fractured family closer together. However, it looks like someone is pulling out all the stops to keep the Sussexes from rejoining the fold.

Upon getting the news of his father’s illness, Prince Harry wasted no time to fly to visit the 75-year-old king. During his brief visit to the U.K., the Duke of Sussex had a short private meeting at Clarence House before King and Queen Camilla left London for Sandringham. While Prince Harry hoped to see his father at Sandringham for a few days as well, the palace aides and Prince William will not be allowing any of his bids to return to The Firm, sources close to Prince William told The Mirror.
The sources further revealed that, according to Prince William, if there were any additional duties to be shouldered, it would fall to him. His primary focus, as of now, remains on his father’s health, his family, and the monarchy’s best interests. There is “no chance” whatsoever of Prince Harry returning in any capacity, as there is a strong concern that if he were to go to Sandringham, they would never be able to shake him off. While the royal family has given Prince Harry the cold shoulder, the Duke still holds love for them.
The 39-year-old recently spoke from the heart and expressed his love for the royal family. He also appreciated the chance to reconnect with his father, despite the ongoing tension.

Prince Harry touched down in British Columbia’s Whistler in Canada to celebrate the Invictus Games One Year to Go event. During an interview at the event, the Duke stated “Any illness, any sickness, brings families together“, reported by ABC News. He was “grateful” to have gotten the opportunity to see his father and “spend any time with him“. While talking about his plans of getting US citizenship, he made it clear that it is not something that is his top priority at the moment.
He also refused to call himself an American. Although, he later gave an ambiguous response, saying, “I don’t know how I feel“. However, these were not the statements that could have led to his complete shut out from the royal circle. Prince Harry had plans to make more trips to the UK, hoping they would take him “through the U.K., or back to the U.K”. This made his intentions of returning to the family quite evident, a fear that allegedly led Prince William to block any contact between Prince Harry and King Charles.
