Royal Family’s Deafening Silence on Meghan Markle’s Birthday Further Adds to Tense Ties
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, and her ties with her in-laws have just worsened over time. Right from the moment Markle and Prince Harry sat for the infamous Oprah Winfrey to the Netflix bombshell docuseries, the strained family ties reached the boiling point of tolerating each other. While the UK Sovereigns went numb, the estranged couple continued their full-fledged attacks on the House of Windsor. However, this cost them a deal of public status before the world.
The Duchess of Sussex faces equally proportional weights of support and criticism on a daily basis. By now, it is no doubt the couple must have become immune to a set of critics who carved out an entire career from criticizing the couple. However, nothing would have been more pricking than the glaring snubs from family on days of special importance.
As the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle turned 42 on the 4th of August, Sussex squaddies and diligent supporters from Hollywood as well poured in the wishes. Markle even shares her birthday with another prominent member of the royal family, making it all the more significant for the UK seniors. However, restrained by the controversies, Buckingham did not utter a word for the Duchess’ special day.

It is also pertinent to note that neither Prince Harry nor any close family member of Markle took to wish the birthday girl in public. As it was all business at the Palace, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle basked in their own bliss on a Montecito night dinner with close friends. Nonetheless, this was not always the case.
The royal family has wished Meghan Markle in various instances
Markle marked her first birthday as a royal in the year 2018 following her grand wedding with Prince Harry. Although the same year did not see much light and fame, the following birthdays were the charm for Markle. Prince Harry once wrote to his amazing wife on her birthday, thanking her for walking alongside him on the adventure.

Likewise, all the other senior members of the royal family, including Queen Elizabeth II, helped make 4th August a memorable day. The then Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton took to their respective social media platforms to wish the Duchess all the returns of the day.
