Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced at the edge of 2020 and frustration that they were resigning as senior royals. This was followed by an official acknowledgment of falloff by the royal family in March 2021. And this facade of the Megxit being restricted to professional ties was continued until the famous Oprah interview. Since then, the Californian royals have come to be a stark contrast to the royal family as they continue to turn their professional feuds into multi-million dollar deals. And this was going great until now for the Sussexes, who seem to be looking for an escape from the domino of doom that has followed them.

Following the falloff of the $20 million Spotify deal and one too many A-list friendships, the couple is rumored to be looking for a way back to the palace. But it seems like the ticket back to Kensington Palace for a retired senior royal costs much more than the average business class ticket from the USA to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex, through his memoir, established himself as a best-selling author alongside the fact that there was no chance of a royal return. However, he has made a royal U-turn as he is reportedly looking to find an apartment in the heart of Kensington. This way, the Sussexes can hold their paramount positions as senior royals while also maintaining their sanity. However, Royal editor Sarah Hewson, while speaking to Sky News Australia, has declared the move unfit. “The damage, the wounds are so deep it’s gonna take an awful lot and an awful long time to heal those wounds,” she said.

Hewson further says that she finds the claims of their return bogus. But whether the claims are true, do Meghan Markle and Prince Harry really need a second chance with the royals?

Daunting remarks that made Prince Harry doubt himself, denial of proper protection for Meghan Markle, and questions about the color of their baby’s skin, form the crux of the bulk allegations that the Sussexes have made against the royals. Whereas, the palace itself has made no move to debunk the same, safe from a short yet sharp, “recollections may wary.”

Both sides have ample reasons to never speak to one another. And even if they do make a magical leap, an entire system will need to be reframed. And the last time we checked, this was not on King Charles’ list of plans this year.
