The rivalries between the Wales and the Sussexes of the British monarchy having Prince Harry and Prince William at loggerheads has been one of the greatest media frenzies over the last few years. As cited by the rogue royal himself, the once-closed brothers have now been reduced to arch-nemesis. The tensions had been long, simmering beneath the roofs of Buckingham until one day an explosive feud brought down the monarchy. Prince Harry’s bestselling non-fiction biography, Spare, has racked the records with its thrilling revelations. However, recent developments suggest those were all just the tip of the iceberg. 

Digging deeper into the tell-all memoir, royal enthusiasts have found the intricate yet disturbing details of yet another physical altercation that broke out between the two brothers. Previous stories narrated how Prince Harry lost his cool as his elder brother labeled his wife, Meghan Markle, as “abrasive and rude.” 

A fight between Prince William and Prince Harry invoked Princess Diana’s memories 

Nonetheless, there was a lot more than just the heir smacking the spare into a dog bowl. Detailing another rough and furious brawl, Prince Harry writes, “He lunged, grabbed my shirt.” “Listen to me, Harold,” said Prince William as he grabbed his younger brother, according to the Duke. In a fit of pique, the Prince of Wales touched some sensitive nerves of the royals that even affected Father King Charles. 

“I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear I swear on Mummy’s life,‘” said Princess Diana’s oldest. “He stopped. I stopped. Pa stopped. He’d gone there,” further adds Prince Harry, elaborating that the room went silent as the feud invoked Princess Diana’s memories.

What was the reason behind the tension between the brothers?

Earlier reports had claimed that Prince William’s words about the Duchess had hurt the Duke. Oftentimes, the heated back-and-forth used to soon spiral up due to matters regarding Meghan Markle. In another instance at Prince Phillip’s funeral, the estranged royal added how Prince William was steaming because Meghan Markle had allegations of bullying Place staff.

In the much-talked-about physical altercation, the Duke also mentioned how the fight thrashed a locket with the picture of his son. Admitting to the same on The Late Show with Steven Colbert, Prince Harry showed the same locket, which now carried the pictures of both his kids, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
