Hollywood is a slippery slope where stagnancy gets you nowhere. In fact, an actor who fails at versatility is as good as a fork stuck in the road. However, Tinseltown stars are somewhat used to treading the treacherous terrains of showbiz, and with the uptick of such a range, comes the larger-than-life aspirations. Similarly, despite having been the poster child of the Twilight saga, Robert Pattinson has come a long way. And the latest buzz suggests he may tackle a Steve-O biopic.

The question, however, remains: could this be Pattinson’s next career-defining role?

In a recent conversation with Elle, Robert Pattinson revealed having based his voice on Steve-O from Jackass in Bong Joon-Ho’s Mickey 17. He recalled listening to an interview with Steve-O years back about his payment for the high-stakes stunts, a “hundred bucks.” Pattinson admired and likened Mickey’s understated bravery with Steve-O, a trait that does not seek to draw attention to itself. Although the voice impression did not work out for Joon-Ho, Pattinson confessed if a Steve-O biopic ever comes to life, he is “ready” for it.

Pattinson did not shy away from revealing his soft corner for Jackass. This is probably why he also spent a considerable time figuring out Steve-O’s voice impression. Pattinson conceded that taking on the impression was a “big swing” indeed, but surrounded by 40 curious faces at the table read, he humbly took a step back. However, if a Steve-O biopic gets a green light, make no mistake, because Pattinson is the clear forerunner.
