Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are arguably one of the most iconic bromances in Hollywood. What started with a random Instagram message has formed a stronger bond than ever. After achieving the unthinkable with Wrexham, it seems like Reynolds and McElhenney had a plan to collaborate in Hollywood as well.

Back in 2021, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney joined forces to take over Wrexham and took it to new heights with the club even getting their first EFL League win in 15 years. And it seems like the duo even considered creating some magic on-screen as well. During an interview with BuzzFeed in 2022, the two Hollywood stars talked about bringing the Deadpool star on board for a cameo on McElhenney’s sitcom series. While Reynolds felt surprised, McElhenney revealed that it was something that “could be arranged.”

In addition to that, the Mythic Quest star talked about how the Free Guy star could play his boyfriend in the series. McElhenney shared how “Mac needs a boyfriend.” McElhenney’s character Mac got cheated on by Denis in season 16 of the series. Reynolds was all in for the role as he agreed to play Mac’s hypothetical boyfriend. The Deadpool actor’s incredibly hilarious personality and witty persona could have been an excellent addition to the show.

While the cameo is not yet seen, the show will be back with its 17th addition soon.

Premiered back in 2005, the series took the world by storm and continues to be incredibly popular among the masses. While the leading cast featuring Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Kaitlin Olson, Glenn Howerton, and Danny DeVito are likely to return, there are high chances of guest celebrities as well. For now, there is no release date. It’s likely that updates on the seventeenth season of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, including a possible release date, will arrive close to or in 2024.
