Over the years, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston have proven that when you work alongside your best friend, everything just clicks. Their friendship goes all the way back to 1999— during the sixth season of Friends—when Witherspoon appeared as Rachel Green's glamorous, self-absorbed little sister, Jill. Though the actress only appeared in two episodes, she and Aniston stayed in touch, and their friendship only grew. Their roles as both stars and producers on The Morning Show have only made their bond even stronger over the years.

Reese Witherspoon recently opened up about their lasting bond—and their ongoing partnership, both professionally and personally.

Reese Witherspoon recently sat down with Entertainment Tonight alongside Will Ferrell, with whom she just reunited on screen after 24 years. When asked about a friend in Hollywood who has always had her back, the first name Witherspoon took was Jennifer Aniston’s, someone she has known since their Friends days. "She has always been such a good friend to me in personal matters,” said the Legally Blonde star.

Witherspoon also shared that getting to work with Aniston on The Morning Show, so many years after Friends, was a whole new experience for her. And just like Witherspoon, Aniston feels the same way about their strong bond, which has helped them become two of the most powerful women in the industry. But it is not just Aniston and her friendship that have stayed with Witherspoon since her Friends work.

Reese Witherspoon once called the Friends characters her own friends

In 2011, Reese Witherspoon got the chance to honor her bestie. Witherspoon then joked that the characters on Friends had become her friends, too, and they could not be taken away from her. She also mentioned how Aniston’s presence on the show was a huge comfort to her, especially since it was her first time working on a TV show. The Murder Mystery star helped her unwind and told her to just be herself. And that is when their friendship began, one that would last decades and eventually lead to their second successful collaboration on The Morning Show.
