‘Red White & Royal Blue’ Prime’s Latest Queer Hit Has Striking References to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Tapping into the soft liberal American culture, the fictional Buckingham has its story revolving around two juvenile youngsters. A member of the UK royal family discards its rigorous protocols to fall in love with the son of a US President, thus fostering a bridge between the regal and the republic. Rings a bell? Undoubtedly so, since long before Prime Video hosted the gay modern Victorian drama, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had already laid the groundwork for it years ago.
The only difference being the heterosexual element. Nonetheless, respecting their references, the new royal adaptation beholds some direct connections with the Sussexes. Although some also tend to inculcate references to other real-life royals of Buckingham as well, here are some of the Sussex tops.

In the queer drama, a character named Princess Martha played by Bridget Benstead wears a replica of the Queen Mary tiara. In real life, this royal gem was last donned by the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, in her fairy tale wedding with Prince Harry in May 2018. Officially called the Queen Mary bandeau tiara, it was first made for Queen Elizabeth II’s grandmother.
As a family lineage, it went down through generations. First passed to the former Queen, she further passed it on to the Duchess. The $2.8 million worth is known for its special brooch that Princess Mary received as a gift from Prince George, the future King George V.
Prince Harry and his loss of parents, the grief of spare and tabloid hacking

Starting from losing a parent to suffering at the hands of ravaging media and paparazzi, the reel and the real Princes go through it all. In fact, it also evokes claims by King Charles’ youngest. The fifth in line to the throne has made the grievances of being a spare, no secret.

The Duke of Sussex has time and again revealed what it was to be the plan B for the Palace lest anything happened to the heir. “The Heir and the Spare, there was no judgment about it, but also no ambiguity,” wrote the Duke. Likewise, Prince Henry in Red White and Royal Blue also refers to him as the Spare of the family.
