Despite the entourage of successful movies that the platform harbors, Disney has not been hitting it out of the park in terms of budget with the exception of this year. While many reasons ranging from the growing competition in streaming and other business trends may have contributed to the same, the biggest contribution is likely coming from its massive live-action movies, more specifically the live-action Snow White movie.

A subject of much discussion ever since its casting choice, the Disney movie's Snow White, Rachel Zegler, now has more concerns to deal with than just a poison apple.

While the Disney live-action Snow White movie may have missed a major detail in casting its Snow White, it has stayed true to the material in that the dwarfs are still hard at work. Following the PR debacle surrounding Rachel Zegler, Forbes revealed that the movie crossed $269.4 million in budget towards the end of 2023. This, apart from being an astonishingly large budget, also poses the demand for the movie to at least make $400 million at the box office to break even.

Apart from the production budget, which is understandably high in these movies as they quite literally try to create magic, as Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot carried the chilly stepmother and daughter energy on to the red carpet, it only added to the PR tragedy. While a troubled budget has become Disney's thing in recent years, a PR debacle seems more of Rachel Zegler's forte.

While Zegler did receive a few nods following her performance in the trailer, it all came back to square one when news surfaced that she was being eyed for a real-life fairy tale eque role.

Rachel Zegler in the midst of another casting catastrophe

For an actress that secured acclaimed awards as a child and even impressed critics with several other performances, the hate surrounding Rachel Zegler can only be explained through wrong castings and that one interview where she compared the prince from Disney's original Snow White to being a stalker. While the latter cannot is unlikely to be forgotten anytime soon, another jewel has been added to the former as the actress is in the talks to play Gloria Estefan.
