When it was announced that Rachel Zegler would be taking on the role of Snow White, there were only a few who got up to clap. The initial lukewarm reception of the Disney princess' casting was more attributed to Disney and the series of misses in terms of casting and real-life movies that it has been releasing. Or so fans thought until she was allegedly tapped to play Gloria Estefan.

While Hollywood is a cruel place for emerging actors, there are many like Jenny Ortega, who have managed to strike the right chord. However, it seems that after having done it once, Zegler just cannot find it again, as fans go absolutely feral with metaphorical pitchforks, over her supposed casting as the legendary singer.

It is definitely difficult to trace down where Zegler went wrong, or how she became a magnet of such rage episodes when looking at her filmography because the actress has been collecting Golden Globes since a young age. However, a look into her interviews, especially the ones alongside Gal Gadot, might provide an answer.

It is good that the actress has not confirmed the casting yet as perhaps the onslaught of negative fan reactions may make the studio rethink its decision.

During the entire Snow White debacle, fans stood behind the shield of Rachel Zegler being of Colombian descent, which took away from the 'White' in Snow White, according to them. Therefore, one would think that when she is tapped to play a Cuban-born legend who can sing, a pair of shoes she can easily fit, fans would be smiling ear to ear. However, that is far from the case.

While some downright rejected the idea, others pitched they would have liked to see a Cuban actress take the role.

In the sea of hate, however, there were a few brave swimmers who managed to row their "happy for Rachel" boats and reach the shore. A feat that maybe Rachel Zegler too could achieve if she strayed away from such polarizing casting.
