This study was carried out by Lindsey Godwin, Ph.D., in a report for Psychology Today. She picked up some positive psychology insights while listening to Ryan Reynolds at the 2024 Fast Company Innovation Festival in NYC, which perhaps even the actor himself had not realized. Godwin highlighted that the first lesson from Reynolds' unofficial psychology playbook was the importance of finding joy- not just in the big moments, but also in everyday life. Then comes the skill of turning every ordinary moment into something special.
Reynolds also embodies the idea that it is important to face constraints during creative tasks, as these challenges often lead to more innovative and unique solutions. The fourth lesson he is known for is pushing projects to be “great” rather than “perfect.” Last but not least, Reynolds believes that challenges are temporary and setbacks can be overcome- a lesson his wife, Blake Lively, could certainly use right now.
