Why did the Welsh town call off the coronation party?

As it seems, the town was seemingly deprived of their right to watch the grand coronation ceremony of King Charles III. However, to their own surprise, the crowd could raise no collective amount to bear the expenses of the party. Thus, they collectively refrained from going for an after-party, thereby canceling the celebration. The crowd seemed nowhere interested in donating to this cause.
