New Coronation Snap: 3 Generations of Royals, King Charles with His Heirs Receive All Kinds of Comments
After 70 long years, the world saw a coronation take place. Having worked for the Crown and his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles finally became the king. Making an exception to the rules, his wife Camilla Parker Bowles also became the Queen. While he has not been the most popular choice amongst the public, the crowning was inevitable. Several celebrities refused the royal invite, some dug up the Princess Diana controversy, while others were split up over Megxit.
Days after the event, BBC has now dropped a portrait picture of the King sitting on his throne. “The King and his two heirs…,” said the caption on an Instagram post. In the picture, Prince William was standing on the left side with the third heir, Prince George on the right. The picture was clicked at Buckingham Palace during the coronation day on 6th May 2023.

The ceremony apparently cost the British taxpayers around $125 million. While the royal family still holds a lot of supporters, there are those who aren’t happy about enormous sums being spent in this era for figureheads with no executive powers. In addition, Prince Harry was kept far behind and away from the main members as he attended the coronation alone.
As photos dropped on social media, fans put their thoughts over the ceremony, and they did not hold back while praising or criticizing.

The energy was still high amongst fans of the royal family for King Charles’ coronation. “Now THIS is a better portrait,” reacted a royal fan to the photo of the King with his two heirs. They were also reminded of Queen Elizabeth upon seeing her son on the throne with the crown. “King Charles is looking like Queen Elizabeth,” a social media user mentioned.
As for the funny comments, “Two and a Half Men,” joked one fan, referring to the series just because the portrait photo had King Charles and Prince William with young Prince George. “Where is the spare?” said another, pointing out at Prince Harry, who wrote a memoir of the same name and was absent from such an important moment. “I have a feeling this might be the last coronation,” a user said as considering the growing opposition over the monarchy, some also feel that this could be the last coronation.
