The long-standing speculations about Prince Harry returning to the United Kingdom must have been music to the ears of Sovereigns at Buckingham. However, there is one prominent member who has all the reasons not to be overjoyed about the same. The Prince of Wales, Prince William, long shares strained ties with his wayward brother, Prince Harry. Bombshell revelations that shook the entire royal sphere have made it all the more difficult for the brothers to extend olive branches. On top of it, Prince Harry’s speculated desperate urge to come back home has emerged as a new headache for the future King. 

While the entire fandom looks forward to it, Prince William himself reportedly does not side with Prince Harry’s homecoming ideas. Daily Mail’s commentator, Ephraim Hardcastle, wrote in his column that as the Prince of Wales, Prince William is entitled to a staggering €24 million a year from the Duchy of Cornwall. He thus “enjoys a surplus which will diminish as he eventually bankrolls the households of his children”. 

Therefore, his take on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to their base would mean more cut from his lot. “Prince William would have to fund their duties, housing costs, and the schooling of Archie and Lilibet,” wrote the royal reporter. Moreover, it is impossible to imagine Prince William and Meghan Markle living under the same roof following all the devastating truth bombs that the Duke dropped. 

However, even though the brothers got down on each other’s throats, Prince Harry is pretty homesick for his gilded cage. 

Prince Harry is desperate to return to royalty despite tensions with Prince William 

The Duke has always been the wild one out of the royal puppets of Buckingham. Never fitting into the aristocratic mold, King Charles’ youngest went rogue after things started affecting his marital life with the love of his life, Meghan Markle. The brotherly spat that dates back to 2018 is also stated to be because of the Duchess. Prince William did not do enough to include her in the family, accused Prince Harry. 

Fast forward to January 13, 2020, Prince William knocked down Prince Harry into a dog bowl after calling Markle ‘rude’ and ‘abrasive’. It was then that the Duke knew they had to leave. However, in his promotional interviews with Spare, he mentioned that he never wanted it all to be this way. He wants his father and brother back, he said.
