Robert Jobson's new book, The Princess of Wales: The Biography (via Daily Mail), revealed that Prince William was "concerned" when Meghan Markle showed interest in wearing Princess Diana's jewelry during her wedding to Prince Harry. "He'd sought assurances from the Queen that Harry's bride would not be wearing any of Princess Diana's jewelry," wrote Jobson as per the outlet.
According to Robert Jobson, Prince William went to Queen Elizabeth to address his concerns, despite his own wife, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, having inherited a good lot of Diana's jewels the most prominent being the 12-carat sapphire engagement ring. Nonetheless, that was not the case, at least always.
Despite the alleged requests for restricted access, Meghan Markle inherited her fair share of Princess Diana’s collection except for her big day.

Daily Mail reported that Meghan Markle ended up wearing no jewelry from Princess Diana’s collection on her wedding day. However, what she did wear following the functions to the main wedding was the blue Aquamarine ring famously called the Freedom ring that the Princess wore following her high-profile divorce. Following their big day, the ring featured on the Duchess’ finger at various events and royal engagements.
Princess Kate honored Princess Diana by wearing her sapphire ring on her 2011 wedding day at Westminster Abbey. In contrast, Meghan Markle did not wear Princess Diana's inherited engagement ring on her wedding day, instead opting for a Welsh gold wedding band. Kate Middleton’s gesture was a touching tribute to her husband's late mother, while Markle did not have (or was not allowed) to share the same fate.
