Since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped out of the royal frontiers in the UK, quitting their roles as working royals, the pair has often found themselves at the edge of a gun. Despite their active efforts in philanthropy and penchant for doing good for people, their actions have always been a topic of deep scrutiny. Unsurprisingly, their recent trip to Nigeria was not devoid of this round-the-clock surveillance.

Instead, the unfettering gaze was accompanied by consequent attacks on the Duke from a royal expert.

Why did the royal expert take a dig at Prince Harry after his trip to Nigeria?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were recently invited to Nigeria by the nation’s Chief of Defense Staff, the highest-ranking military officer to promote the Invictus Games. As the pair made their way to the Western African country, their visit was filled with poignant memories of Princess Diana throughout until it turned out scornful in the eyes of royal experts when Maureen Callahan blasted Prince Harry as a “laughable” entity for “standing at attention” during the national anthem in an interview with GB News

The Duke seemingly appeared to be inspecting troops at the Nigerian Defense Headquarters in Abuja, making him the fodder of jokes for these experts. It is no news that Prince Harry and Markle infamously quit their roles as working royals in 2020. Reminding how he was stripped of his royal duties, Callahan insisted that the Duke’s attitude during the national anthem made it look like he still “holds the titles and honors”. To her, it is a testament contrasting his previous vocations of “how terrible it was to be the Royals”.

Callahan is, unfortunately, not the only royal expert to share this feeling. A similar verdict was echoed by another royal know-it-all, Tom Quinn.

Royal author Tom Quinn recently highlighted to The Mirror that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent trip to Nigeria included every ounce of traditional elements of a royal tour from reception, and school visits, to meetings with wounded soldiers. Reflecting along similar lines as Maureen Callahan regarding their quitting as working royals, Quinn also pointed fingers at the way the pair carried themselves on the tour, appearing still as royals.

Quinn remarked how the actions have left senior royals completely concerned, as King Charles and Prince William were “absolutely furious” over the way they handled things. He further explained that their reception was perceived as an official tour, which left the King further disrupted as it was more or less a statement on their part that they no longer accepted they were not “working royals”. Although this is not the first time the pair has been victim to over-assumption, the cold shoulder this time, however, has the potential to fire the already broken dots of the royal family.
