Prince Harry Will “regret” His Absence at the King’s Birthday Parade, Claims Royal Expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s estrangement from the royal family has repeatedly led to their absence from significant royal events. The King’s birthday parade was no exception, as their absence has become a recurring pattern. Although this ceremony could have provided the long-awaited reunion with a change of pace over the eagle-eyed surveillance on the pair, Prince Harry's decision to skip celebrating his father’s birthday has instead drawn criticism from royal pundits.

One royal commentator suggested that he might soon regret his decision, given his longstanding military ties and interests.

Following their dramatic departure from royal duties, this year marks the second time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have missed the King’s official birthday. Despite continuous invitations to Trooping the Color being sent to their Montecito mansion since their move abroad, no invitation was extended this year. In a recent interview with The Sun, Richard Fitzwilliams suggested that the Prince will come to "regret" missing out on the event, especially given his past as a former soldier who served in Afghanistan.

Fitzwilliams added that Markle would not be affected by these decisions, as military matters have always been more of an interest to the Prince. Reflecting on their desire for an apology regarding the way they were treated, Fitzwilliams noted they were unlikely to receive one. Instead, he predicted that Prince Harry would feel a significant amount of regret once the reality of his choices sank in. Given his lifelong connection to the military, the royal commentator believed this regret would naturally arise.

Fitzwilliams reflected that if the pair were to attend the event, it would significantly overshadow the event's purpose for one particular reason, making both the boats as frail as it gets for the Sussex couple.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's actions not only invite scrutiny from the royal establishment but also attract a significant amount of media attention. Despite the British media's integral role in this, Richard Fitzwilliams criticized the Sussexes as if their pursuit of publicity was entirely their fault. Speaking to The Sun, Fitzwilliams suggested that the presence of the Sussex couple could have detracted from the intended focus of the event, drawing excessive attention to themselves.

"You simply cannot have Trooping The Color where the central figures are Harry and Meghan," remarked Fitzwilliams. While this is not the first time experts have criticized their alleged pursuit of publicity, it adds fuel to an ongoing controversy. However, given the couple's familiarity with criticism from the royal sphere, they may well be able to weather this negative tide and rise above it.
