Prince Harry has embraced a new chapter in the star-studded city of California with his wife Meghan Markle. However, this transition has come at the cost of losing some of the personal connections, including those within the royal family and their circle of friends. After being sidelined from Christmas festivities, the Sussexes will experience another disappointment in missing out on a special celebration. Prince Harry’s childhood friend, who also happens to be his son’s godfather, will be tying the knot in a few months. 

As per reports, he chose to invite Prince William instead of Prince Harry. A close friend has also shed light on the matter following the Sussexes’ snub from the society wedding of the year. 

Prince Harry got snubbed by his best friend 

The Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor, is one of the few people who has maintained a special bond with both Prince Harry and Prince William despite their discord. He is also the godfather of both the Prince’s sons, Prince Archie and Prince George. However, when it came to inviting them to the wedding, Grosvenor chose the working royal over the estranged one “to avoid a family clash in the House of Windsor”, as reported by The Sunday Times. 

Hugh Grosvenor will be tying the knot with Olivia Grace Henson on 7th June 2024 at Chester Cathedral. A close friend told the publication that Hugh Grosvenor is unlikely to patch things up with Prince Harry before his wedding as “he wanted to avoid anything overshadowing the day, especially for Olivia”. This snub came just days after the Sussexes were reportedly left off the guest list of the royal Christmas celebrations.

A royal expert also shed light on Prince William’s response to his brother’s snub from the royal Christmas celebrations. 

Does the Sussexes’ absence from royal festivities bother Prince William?

The Californian royal has been absent from back-to-back royal events, including King Charles’ 75th birthday party. As per reports, the couple themselves chose not to attend the event and declined the invitation. As the official guest list for Christmas at Sandringham came to light, it reportedly left off the Sussexes. In a recent interview with the Sun Jennie Bond, a royal expert, claimed that Prince Harry’s absence from the Christmas celebrations would not bother the Prince of Wales. 

The bombshell book of Omid Scobie, Endgame, has further added fuel to these existing tensions between both parties. This could also be one of the reasons for Prince Harry’s possible absence from Hugh Grosvenor’s wedding. However, it is important to note that none of the royals or their representatives have confirmed the alleged snubs of the Sussexes from the royal celebrations yet.
