Chris Ship, ITV's royal editor, recently revealed on X that Prince Harry will feature in an upcoming documentary titled Tabloids on Trial, discussing phone hacking in an interview with an ITV reporter. The conversations will include Hugh Grant, Charlotte Church, and Paul Gascoigne. According to reports, the Duke shared his motivations for exposing the illegal practices of British tabloids.

The documentary is scheduled to debut on Thursday, July 25. Alongside this announcement, two new photos were released: one of the Duke of Sussex alone and another showing him in conversation with Becca Barry, a health correspondent at ITV News. Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter noted that the documentary aims to delve into what the leadership at Fleet Street knew as scandals unfolded within Britain's tabloid press.

In December 2023, following an extended legal battle, Prince Harry secured a victory in his lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN) concerning allegations of phone hacking and other unlawful activities. However, this win propelled him to further pursue ongoing litigations against the press and tabloids in the UK. In a statement conveyed by his lawyer David Sherbourne, it was made clear that the Prince's "mission continues" despite this legal success.

According to Reuters, the Duke is also engaged in legal action against News Group Newspapers (NGN) for alleged privacy violations spanning from the mid-1990s to 2016, although NGN has refuted these claims. However, Judge Fancourt dismissed his claims of NGN's phone hacking, citing the UK's statutory limitation of six years after a privacy breach to file a lawsuit. Additionally, Prince Harry is also allegedly suing Associated Newspapers for unlawful information gathering and defamation. As these legal battles intensify, the upcoming documentary suggests that Prince Harry is preparing to address these challenges head-on.
