Prince Harry Signs a Star-Studded Alliance With Matt Damon for the Clinton Global Initiative in the New York City
Prince Harry may be homesick in ways beyond measure, but his not-so-royal gigs are keeping him busy in the Stateside. While the future of his and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal is up in the air, and he is dialing up his old royal crew to test the waters for a partial comeback, the Duke has a new task on his plate. This time, he is teaming up with the Hollywood hunk Matt Damon to give a speech at the Clinton Global Initiative.
Sure, his last work trip to Colombia alongside the Duchess caused a stir for looking a little too much like a royal tour, but the Duke is back in action, gearing up for another star-studded event while the royal circles remain stuck on the last.

As reported by the Associated Press, on September 5, the nonpartisan organization started by former President Bill Clinton revealed that Prince Harry is jumping alongside actor, Matt Damon, into the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. Scheduled for September 23-24, the event will spotlight "What’s Working" to tackle big issues like climate resilience, global health equity, gun violence, journalist protection, humanitarian crises, and other global challenges.
Matt Damon, co-founder of Water.org and WaterEquity, and celebrity chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, were also announced as participants, joining the likes of Sophia Bush, Ginger Zee, and others. Bill Clinton recently shared the Associated Press report, confirming that Prince Harry, Matt Damon, and Chef José Andrés will be speakers at this year’s Clinton Global Initiative in New York City. Clinton also informed the publication that the 2024 CGI will "double down" on its efforts.
The Duke’s plans in New York City, however, extend beyond just the CGI Annual Meeting.

According to the New York Post, Prince Harry’s upcoming visit to the Big Apple will line up with the UN General Assembly High-level Week and Climate Week. Unlike his four-day adventure in Colombia with Meghan Markle, this time Prince Harry is flying solo. His rep says he will be in New York to push forward a few of his patronages and philanthropic projects.
The father of two is said to have a packed schedule, with engagements lined up for African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst. His spokesperson also mentioned that Prince Harry will continue his work with the Archewell Foundation. The Duke will also be followed by extra security. So technically, New York City has the chance to roll out the red carpet for Prince Harry long before any royal comeback—complete with a dash of star power.
