Prince Harry, who stepped down from his royal duties along with his wife, Meghan Markle, still continues to serve people in his own way. The Duke is in the United Kingdom to celebrate the WellChild Awards 2023, which is extremely close to his heart. What made this year’s celebration the most memorable was it happened on the death anniversary of the Duke’s late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth ll. While the prince graced the mega event with his love and honor, his companion could not make it to the event.

For the past 15 years, the Duke has been an active contributor to WellChild. Along with him, the former actress also joins her husband in the noble cause since their relationship started. But this year, she could not make it to the awards and the Duke addressed her absence.

The 38-year-old revealed the Duchess was “very upset that she couldn’t be here.” He also added they would have a very busy week ahead, as Hello Magazine reported. Well, he reportedly confessed Markle’s utter desire to attend the event that has been close to the prince’s heart.

On the other hand, Matt James, the chief executive of WellChild, showcased his gratitude for the Duke’s presence. Ahead of the beginning of the ceremony, James also talked to People. He expressed his joy at seeing Harry attending the event while giving due credit for his constant support. The Duke could not attend the previous year’s event due to the death of his grandmother. But this year, he remembered the late Queen Elizabeth ll and talked about how she would be looking after them.
