Prince Harry and his security issues have grabbed headlines for a while now. The Duke of Sussex has been locked in a legal battle over his stripped-down security rights after he stepped back from royal duties. Nonetheless, while he cannot foot the bill for the Metropolitan Police to trail him everywhere in the UK (yet), he has still got a top-notch security setup, even across the Atlantic in the United States.

The estranged royals' neighbors have recently opened up about what the Sussexes’ daily life is really like- and 'security' is a constant feature.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California back in 2020 to start fresh. And it turns out, they indeed live quite a normal life- the only not-so-normal aspect being their ever-present security team that never leaves their side. A neighbor of the couple recently spilled to The Telegraph that their security teams are always around, even when Prince Harry is strolling his Labrador on the beach or biking around.

The neighbor also mentioned that, compared to Meghan Markle, Prince Harry leads a more laid-back lifestyle. The Duke begins his day with 30-40 minutes of meditation, works out with personal trainers, sometimes does a bit of bird-watching in his garden, and handles the morning school run with his kids. Meanwhile, Markle is seen out and about more often than her husband. Nonetheless, even though they are living the high life in Montecito, the couple still has their sights set on a UK base.

Earlier this year, there were reports that the Sussexes were on the hunt for a new home in the UK. But their plans soon hit a hurdle. 

Prince Harry has been actively searching for a permanent residence for his family to use when they visit the UK. Yet, it appears their plans to move have been put on halt for now until the security issues, for which the Duke has been battling for months, are resolved, a source told the Express. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are waiting for their taxpayer-funded security arrangements with the Home Office to be completed.

Earlier this year, Prince Harry lost his High Court challenge against the government’s decision to reduce his UK security. He opposed the downgrade. However, since the court process seems to be taking its time, their dream of purchasing a UK home is on hold for now. On the bright side, as the neighbor describes, they seem to be enjoying a good life in Montecito.
