According to What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix documentary series has failed to captivate the audience despite its pre-release hype. The show received an 86% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes but failed to crack Netflix's Top 10 list of most-watched shows, unlike their 2022 bombshell Harry & Meghan series. As per the engagement report, the series garnered only 300,000 views in the months following its release, a clear dismal performance compared to other shows.

Upon introspection, the report found that the Heart of Invictus matched the viewership of Tidying Up With Marie Kondo and Iron Chef: Brazil, not exactly a thrilling club to be in. Meanwhile, One Piece Season 1 with a whopping 71.6 million views mark, and other shows like Dear Child, Who Is Erin Carter?, and Lupin: Part 3, which breached 50-70 million views, dominated the list, leaving Heart of Invictus in the dust.

Royal experts predicted the downfall of Heart of Invictus, forecasting a lukewarm response. Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, told Newsweek the documentary might be "constructive and interesting" but would struggle to attract a large audience. This prediction was based on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's previous struggles with the streaming giant.

Fitzwilliams' prediction proved accurate, as Heart of Invictus failed to impress. Despite its personal significance to Prince Harry, the series underperformed, validating initial concerns. The royal couple thus faces major challenges in connecting with a broader audience, highlighting the need for a new approach to resonate with the public if they wish to succeed with their upcoming Netflix projects
