Prince Harry Is “a threat to the crown”, Claims Royal Affairs Author Amid Irreparably Widening Rift
In the long history of one of the oldest surviving monarchies, Buckingham seems to be going through one of its riveting phases. At a time when King Charles III marks half a year of helming the crown, his two sons have strayed oceans apart. The rift between Prince Harry and Prince William’s households has grown far and further with each passing moment, thanks to bombshell revelations and claims by the former. Meanwhile, on their sojourn to earn a life independent of the royal monarchy, the Sussexes may have dug themselves a valley too deep to cross back.
On the backs of such a gloomy outset, an author of royal affairs has come forward with an even bleaker prospect of reconciliation.

Already under high tensions, Prince Harry may have served the final nail in the coffin of his relationship with Prince William with the release of his memoir, Spare. Two weeks into 2023, the bombshell revelations by the Duke of Sussex saw him mention his brother as his “archnemesis”. The move may have dealt an irreparable blow to any prospect of mending the fences between the two, believes an author of a book, Endgame, dedicated to royal affairs. Speaking to People, Omid Scobie believed that “there’s no going back,” in the brothers’ relationship.
In his mentions, Prince Harry while describing Prince William as his “loving brother” also lashed out claims that he “lunged” at him. Accusing him of physical attacks and “screaming”, the 39-year-old essentially severed the last straw. Moreover, Scobie also claimed that “In the eyes of some within the institution, Harry is a threat to the crown.” The remarks are based on the US-based royal’s forward thinking and no hesitation to put forth and criticize royal shortcomings.
On another end, Prince William also stands miffed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s media deals, especially with Netflix.

After moving to the United States, the outgoing working royals explored all the means to expand their PR influence. Coming as a shining light of hope were the many media companies eager to sign them up. While, among the very first ones, the Spotify deal fell through, a $100 million 5-year-long Netflix deal still stands. As part of the deal, the Sussexes have already aired one season of their documentary, Harry & Meghan.
On the other side of the coin, those deals have reportedly left Prince William aghast. The next-to-be king has sharply criticized Netflix’s portrayal of the royal family in shows such as The Crown. The rationale behind this is that the streamer has strayed far from accuracy and thus, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle further exploiting it comes as an additional bone of contention.
