Prince Harry rolled up his sleeves to fight the world for his justice. However, the route is downhill for part of the way. While it is all glam and glory for the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, the Duke is evidently grappling with losses and defeats. As if the three parallel legal cases were not enough, Prince Harry had to file another to rearrange his security subject to payment. However, the legal bid hardly saw any daylight for his estrangement from the royal family. The Home Office of the United Kingdom won against letting “armed police become bodyguards” for the upper privileged. Nonetheless, the legal whirlwind does not end there.

The man on a mission who waged an outright war against the media and paparazzi has got his hands tight at the moment. Even so, having spent thousands for his bids, he will have to dig deeper into his pockets. As Daily Mail reports via The Sun, there is a high possibility that the Duke has to bear the full charges of the lawsuit. After Justice Chamberlain laid the final verdict, the defeated Prince will now have to face an eye-watering lump sum of $618,000 for his legal bid.

It was also reported that his taxpayers will also have to let go of a huge amount of $320,000 from their own account. For the record, the Freedom of Information (FOI) request has obtained that £199,978.52 of taxpayer money has gone towards the Government’s legal department costs in this case. Furthermore, a general fund charged a sum of  £93,268 to the Prince with the council. Nonetheless, the Duke will have to incur them all for nothing.

The lawyers and barristers fighting on behalf of the Home Office and Police argued armed officers cannot really “place themselves in harm’s way’ and potentially stop a bullet to protect a paying customer.” And thus the odds went against the Duke.

Nonetheless, the defeat cost him a little too much.

Justice Chamberlain threw Prince Harry’s claims out of the window. Prior to it, the Duke had to pull through a tough round of arguments. Granting the Sussexes private protection would “create a two-tier system that only the wealthy could exploit” affirmed the court. The offer, as the Duke had proposed, could set an “unacceptable precedent,” said the Judge. Thus, the case has finally gone in the favor of the UK’s Metropolitan Police and Home Office.

Being a royal, although estranged, has not exactly befitted Prince Harry the RAVEC allowances as it does to the “working royals.” Meanwhile, this disagreement with the Kingdom’s government has added fuel to tensions between the Duke and King Charles.
