Prince Harry Has ‘Simply No Evidence’ of Phone Hacking, Court Told

Prince Harry and the Mirror are butting heads over a spying case. The royals are perhaps the most coveted celebrities in the UK, even more than the actors. While the world watched the coronation of King Charles, one eye was on Prince Harry and his understated presence at his father’s ceremony. He promptly left the country after the main event, going back to the USA.

Having grown up in the limelight all his life, the Prince now wants to lead a life in privacy. He even accused the Mirror of spying on him through detectives or other illegal means. Armed with a legal team, the tabloid is hitting back with its response now.

The exclusive news pieces that tabloids publish can often have multiple sources. Prince Harry feels that the Mirror used illegal ways to extract gossip about him, including phone tapping. According to The Guardian, he even mentioned Piers Morgan, who criticized him over the years. Especially with the content between 1995-2011 in matters such as the Prince’s drug abuse, alleged relationships, and his work in the military. Apparently, the tabloid agreed to have a detective hired for illegal spying once but also maintained their defense.

They stated that most of their news came from legal sources. Company’s barrister Andrew Green KC also agreed that while other celebrities may have been taped, Prince Harry’s allegations in his case are blatantly untrue. On the flip side, they claimed that one of their sources was Prince Charles’ former head secretary, Mark Bolland. He was in regular touch with Morgan and may have leaked information.

One of the examples was about the ‘Spare’ author’s glandular fever, which the journalist spoke about in public. Morgan has always been outspoken about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
