Prince Harry Graces the Grey Cup Matchday in a Surprise Appearance at Vancouver
Prince Harry may remain caught at the crossroads of homesickness and nostalgia, navigating the emotions of estrangement and familial ties. However, these emotional rollercoasters do not diminish the Duke’s ambition and the four years since his Stateside rehabilitation uphold that as evidence. While the expert radar of the royal soil is still in the limbo of apologies and hypothesis, the Prince looks busy catching up on the Canadian Football League’s championship game at the Grey Cup in Vancouver, Canada.
Though royal fans are well-versed with the Duke’s Invictus Games, here is why he was recently spotted at the Grey Cup.

The Duke of Sussex made a surprise appearance on Sunday at the Grey Cup between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Toronto Argonauts to promote the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada. The Invictus Games, which the Prince launched in 2014, will take place in Vancouver and Whistler next February. While appearing on TSN, Prince Harry mentioned that this was his first time attending the game, and was “really looking forward” to it.
Speaking with commentator James Duthie, the Prince was asked about his preferred position if he were to become a part of the Canadian Football League. “I think quarterback is a cool place to be,” Prince Harry said. While he also released a video in September promoting the upcoming games, his attendance at the Grey Cup serves as another reminder that the Invictus Games 2025 are not very far down the line.
The Prince even discussed Invictus’ growth with NATO recently, which makes it look like his business obligations may be restricted to the games until the big day.
Prince Harry’s discussion with NATO about the Invictus Games
A few weeks ago, the Invictus Games Foundation briefed the NATO Military Committee at NATO Headquarters about its assistance for wounded, injured, and sick service members and veterans. Prince Harry joined the Military Committee via video chat while a team was there to converse in person, discussing the Invictus program’s potential, growth, and the steps being taken to make the most out of its mission.

This meeting was reportedly after a follow-up in May between the Chair of the Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, and Prince Harry, as the former was attending a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. Although Invictus may not have been a hit everywhere, its ambitions to work for the betterment of wounded, injured, and sick service members have been an inspiration to many.
