The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made no secret of their absolute loathing towards the British Tabloids. Back when they said it all in the Harry & Meghan Netflix docuseries, it sent shockwaves around the world with the devastating revelations. However, at this point, it seems like that was just the trailer of the legal whirlwind that has befell the royal family and its illicit ties with British tabloids. First King Charles, and now his eldest Prince William, are held under the hammer, courtesy–Prince Harry. 

The legal disaster resulted from the extraordinary witness statement put forward by the estranged Prince in the legal proceedings. Earlier, the Duke laid bare the discrete deals between Clarence House and the News Association of Murdoch’s business. We now know why King Charles has not been quite upfront with Prince Harry’s decision to take down the notorious tabloids. After the King, the heir to the throne is taking hits for some malicious links with the UK media houses. 

Prince William was allegedly pretty aware of the Phone Hacking Scandal 

The Guardian navigated through the 21-page-long witness statement by Prince Harry. The statements as published by the outlet read, “Prince William received a secret payoff from Murdoch’s business.” As stated by the Duke, his brother “knew an awful lot more” than he did about the phone hacking scandal. Nevertheless, it was never a concern to share it with Prince Harry. 

And even so, the News Group Newspapers still managed to settle Prince William’s claims for a lump sum amount transferred to him. As a result, the future King need not be subjected to a strikeout application with no public in the entire scenario. Rather, it was to his advantage to have the “favorable deal” which he secured for going off “quietly” about the phone hacks. 

Prince Harry holds his elder brother accountable 

Having said it all, Prince Harry pointed out the secret agreement between the senior executives at the NGN and the officials at the Institution. Driving his point home, the Duke even lashed out with two counter questions, holding his elder brother accountable for the same.

The Duke, as per the statement, asks if all of it did not happen, “Why on earth did William wait until 2019 to bring his claim in circumstances where our two private secretaries brought and settled claims back in 2012?” Princess Diana’s youngest is yet to receive his answers.
