Prince Harry’s Coronation Appearance Holds No Official Significance
After starting off this year by releasing a docuseries and memoir where he fell short on good words to describe his family, especially his father and brother, Prince Harry is going to see one of them get crowned on the 6th of May while the other honors him. The 38-year-old ginger prince has gone the extra mile to attend the ceremony as it falls on his only son’s birthday. And given the strides, one might mistake him as the one receiving the honor.
There was not a single front page that Prince Harry did not make it to following his announcement to attend the coronation sans Meghan Markle. But one that he did not make it to was the Liturgy of the Coronation Service.
What will Prince Harry be doing at the coronation?

As the Liturgy of the Coronation Service became known, so did the major contribution of Prince William to the ceremony. King Charles’ eldest will be the only one who will be honoring his father verbally. He will further kneel down and recite the Homage of Royal Blood. However, for all the headlines that he made, Prince Harry does not have even a single duty at King Charles’ coronation.
That Prince Harry will not be taking up any big role at the coronation became clear when news of him being seated way behind the royal family made rounds. While one could say that the Duke of Sussex was snubbed, he should have seen it coming when he gave up his duty as a senior royal member.
The Palace is only following the book of rules in not letting the California-based royal partake in any role in the crowning ceremony. But why then is the 38-year-old Prince so adamant about attending the ceremony?
Why is the Duke of Sussex attending King Charles’ coronation?
Spare may have earned Prince Harry a Guinness World record, but it did not earn him any brownie points with the people of his own country. The majority of his supporters in England were pressed about him making the royal family a subject of ridicule.

If Prince Harry had chosen not to attend the coronation, he would also have had to kiss goodbye to any chances of the United Kingdom embracing him ever again. Moreover, as someone in line to the throne, it is important for him to respect the crown and its holder.

Perhaps a major role at the ceremony is not what the Duke of Sussex is looking for, but instead a reconciliation with his father and brother, which he claimed he would love.
