Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won, but at what cost? Making amends with the UK Sovereigns was never an option. And at this point, they seem to have lost their remnant of connections at their royal base too. The Duke of Sussex has been drifting far apart from his family, with his indifference growing deeper with each passing day. King Charles and his brother Prince William’s vexation at home never subsided. Adding to it, the wayward Prince now has to deal with the disappointment of his close friends in him. 

Being a good husband to Markle cost the Duke his old relationships. He has reportedly done a lot of damage to those treasures. There, in fact, rose another wave of controversies when the Duke failed to stand by one of his closest on their most auspicious day.

What do his friends think about Prince Harry?

The Duke’s fellow Afghanistan and Iraq veteran along with being a dear friend, Jack Mann, is reportedly unhappy with his gesture. Their friendship does not only limit them to their military days. Marie Claire reported that he was apparently Prince Harry’s best man, although unofficial at his wedding with Meghan Markle in 2018. Having served him the honors, Mann has expected nothing less in return. However, to his disappointment, Prince Harry did not show up at his wedding, putting a dent in their years-long friendship. 

Speaking to the outlet, Daily Mail, Rebecca English revealed that Prince Harry’s associates are “very hurt by his gesture.” They, in fact, feel they have not repaid the loyalty they showed to him. English further added that word is on the street that not just friends and family, but various people are “disgusted” with what the Duke has been doing post his marriage to the American Duchess, Meghan Markle. 

Why did the Duke miss the wedding?

July was all about the glorious royal occasions and events throughout the month. While the newly minted Monarch received the Scottish honors in yet another ceremony full of flamboyance and extravaganza, people reminisced about his former wife, Princess Diana, at the esteemed Award ceremony. Most importantly, to Prince Harry, he had yet another wedding ceremony. The Duke evidently missed all these big and small occasions in one go. 

And now, along with the royal family, his friends are also miffed at him for the snub they never saw coming. The reason behind it all goes back to how he wants to cut his life entirely off the United Kingdom. “Not royal but court visits” are how his strategies have been planned for his visits to his former hometown.
