Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Turn ‘Irrelevant’ as They Try to Steal the Light From Royals, Claims Royal Correspondent
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traded their peaceful and luxurious royalty for the glittery Hollywood in 2020. Though it all seemed like a smooth transition initially, with exciting Netflix shows and podcasts, their popularity in the US has taken a significant plunge over the years. Even the one huge pillar they were leaning their Hollywood dreams on, Netflix, is reportedly turning its back on them. Meanwhile, the love and star power of the royals has remained fairly unfettered, at least among their British fans.
In this situation, a royal correspondent has hinted at Markle and Prince Harry’s attempts to steal the spotlight from the royal family.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond mused during an interview with OK! Magazine about the declining relevance of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. Bond wondered whether the Sussexes were truly trying to scheme announcements on the same day as the royals to steal their shine. While she believed that the Californian royals “are bigger than that,” she also noted that there have been “some rather strange coincidences in the past” regarding the announcement clashes.
Bond claimed, “I think they are becoming less and less relevant to the news” in Britain, standing in no competition with the royal family. This came right after royal expert Hilary Fordwich stated the alleged reasons for Markle’s exit from the royal threshold, saying it was due to “Meghan not wanting to be number two to Kate.” A major example of this constant pitting of the Sussexes against the Wales royals was recently seen after Prince William visited the Eras Tour.
In no time, social media started flooding with comparisons of who is better between the two as soon as pictures and clips from the Eras Tour show in London popped up on their feeds.

Prince William recently celebrated his 42nd birthday at the London stop of the Eras Tour, along with his children. Following the concert, several pictures of the senior royal and his children surfaced on the internet. But there was one particular image and video that got the most attention: Taylor Swift’s selfie with the royal Swifties and Prince William flaunting his moves to the beats of 'Shake It Off.'
Fans soon took to X to compare Prince William’s Eras Tour appearance with that of Prince Harry at Beyoncé’s Renaissance concert. They claimed that Prince Harry could never match the charm of Prince William, as the former appeared a little zoned out and offbeat at the concert. Nonetheless, given how royal loyalists can not help but drag the Sussexes into everything, even when they are not remotely involved, it is hard to say if they are truly losing relevance.
