The year 2024, which was supposed to be a redemption year for the Sussexes, ended up being just another controversial year. No matter what they did, every step they took was met with intense criticism and scrutiny. Whether it was going on tours, doing interviews, launching projects, or even releasing their Netflix shows, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did not manage to make any real progress toward the redemption people had hoped for. This pushed the couple to rethink their approach and go a for separate ‘experimental’ PR route.

The Paley Honors Gala was initially expected to include Prince Harry as well, who was also part of the hosting committee. However, the 40-year-old Duke will now be absent. This decision of the Duke and Duchess to make separate appearances on opposite coasts next week is part of their newly adopted 'twin-track' approach to rebranding themselves.
