Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's arrival in the United States was met with widespread enthusiasm from A-list celebrities. Icons, starting from Cardi B to Beyoncé and Snoop Dogg to John Travolta, warmly welcomed the royal couple in open arms to show their support. However, their fairy-tale entrance soon turned into a media catastrophe. As the scandals mounted, their A-list celebrity friends began to distance themselves, leaving the once-beloved duo to navigate the treacherous waters of fame alone.

To start with the fallouts, the Beckhams and the Clooneys who broke ties with the duo in early 2022 brought about an imbalance in their reputation, making them subject to criticism to date. 

According to royal commentator Samara Gill, in a Sky News Australia debate, the Sussexes' attempts to maintain relationships with high-profile friends have fallen flat. Gill states, "the royals now are just interested in filling their reputation,” and anyone who does not help them with the same is going to get ripped off. She further substantiated her claim by citing their strained relationship with George and his wife, Amal Clooney.

Despite their initial closeness, the Clooneys have publicly distanced themselves from the Sussexes. Samara Gill further cited an alleged Amal Clooney statement where she expressed her unawareness of who Meghan Markle was despite gracing her wedding to Oprah Winfrey. Nevertheless, regardless of the details, the once-strong connection of the Sussexes has withered over time.

The most infamous of them was the “bloody furious" fallout with the former soccer star, David Beckham, and his wife.

The rift long gone under the rug has new updates shedding light on the same. A new book by Tom Bower, The House of Beckham, revealed that the fallout between Prince Harry and David Beckham took place with Meghan Markle at the center. The book claims the Duchess instructed the Prince to "snub" Beckham at the 2018 Invictus Games, a move that did not sit well with the soccer star. It thus put a dent in their ties with communication finally coming to an end after a heated discussion over the phone, as was exclusively reported by the Daily Mail last year. 

The rift deepened four years later when David Beckham strengthened his ties with the royal counterparts of the Sussexes, Kate Middleton and Prince William, potentially enraging the Sussexes. This move was seen as a deliberate response to the 2018 snub, cementing the fallout between the two former friends. The once-sweet ties between the Sussexes and Beckhams have now turned sour, with no chances of a truce nearby.
