Earlier this month, fans had their hearts set on a much-anticipated royal reunion, only to have their dreams come crashing down. Prince Harry showed up at the Invictus anniversary celebration all by himself, with no other royal family members there to give him a warm welcome. However, the glimmer of hope still refuses to fade away. Recently, another opportunity knocked on the door for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to make a reunion happen. Yet, it appears that the Sussexes have chosen to turn it down as well.

An expert has the answers as to why the Californians are avoiding every conceivable opportunity for a run-in with the royal family. 

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be giving Hugh Grosvenor's wedding a miss, where they could have bumped into members of the royal family. Angela Levin told GB News, the rationale behind this is mainly because they do not want to “make a fuss". "They realized it would be very awkward for the royals to have him here", said the royal expert, especially since Prince William will be there to be an usher at the ceremony. 

Levin also speculated that the Sussexes might not have been invited to the wedding. Hugh Grosvenor is not just one of Prince Harry's closest childhood friends but is also reportedly Prince Archie's godfather, although the estranged couple never explicitly confirmed it. In addition to the Sussexes, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Kate Middleton will not be attending the wedding either due to the family’s crisis. Nonetheless, some other sources have suggested there is more than what meets the eye.

Prince Harry's decision to skip the event might be about more than just avoiding causing a scene on his friend's big day.

According to a source who spoke to Daily Mail, the fact that Prince William was offered a significant role in the wedding allegedly led Prince Harry to decline the invitation. It seemed the Duke of Sussex was displeased by the offer as he felt it should have been extended to him instead.  Additionally, reports from other sources, such as The Times, have suggested that it was Hugh Grosvenor himself who opted not to invite the 39-year-old. He feared that the polarizing pair would steal the spotlight from his wedding.

According to a close friend of the royals who spoke to The Sun, Hugh Grosvenor has managed to keep strong ties and stay in touch with both of Princess Diana’s sons, which sets him apart from many others. The Duke of Westminster apparently wishes the brothers could make it up but he understands "it is unlikely to happen before the wedding”. Whatever the real reason might be, it is confirmed that the Sussexes will not be attending the wedding.
