The rift between the Royals and the Sussexes is hitting a whole new level. While there has always been some tension between the two parties post-Megxit and the bombshell revelations, Omid Scobie’s newly released book has added fuel to the fire. Filled with controversial claims and insider revelations, the book hit the shelves on October 28. And for some reason, the book has also raised suspicions among the royals about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s involvement in the shocking revelations.

As a response, the government of the UK is reportedly contemplating a drastic measure that could strip the Duke and Duchess of Sussex of their royal titles.

Politicians usually maintain a distance from royal controversies. However, the racism accusations brought to light by Omid Scobie in Endgame, have compelled a departure from this norm. Consequently, a legislative proposal will be introduced this week that would explore the controversial “nuclear option” to strip the Sussexes of their royal titles. Conservative MP Bob Seely will be spearheading this initiative as he is frustrated by the Sussexes’ “poisonously insidious” attempt to tarnish the royal image, as per his statement to Daily Mail.

Seely does not buy that the Sussexes were uninvolved in Omid Scobie’s book. He is currently pushing for his Titles Deprivation 1917 Amendment Bill, which will revive wartime powers. The proposed modifications have also been given the green light by the Parliament’s Table Office. The Bill is slated to appear on the Commons’ Order Paper next week. All of this could have been avoided if the accidental publishing of an excerpt from Omid Scobie’s book had not happened.

Omid Scobie’s book became a hot topic even before hitting bookstores. The royal author somewhere already dropped hints about the impending controversy it would stir. Yet, little did anyone anticipate the extent of its impact. In an unintentional leak in the Dutch versions of the book, Scobie pointed fingers at Kate Middleton and King Charles for alleged racism. The book asserted that these senior royals had concerns about the skin color of Prince Archie.

The book went on to allege that many senior members of the royal family used derogatory nicknames for the Duchess. This included “Duchess Difficult, Me-gain, Narcissistic Sociopath, and Degree Wife.” As per relationship expert Louella Anderson, these alleged monikers had a detrimental effect on Markle’s self-esteem and have further strained the relationship between her and the royal family. That said, will the book, Endgame, mark the endgame for the Sussexes’ royal status?
