Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Halt House Hunt in UK Over Security Reasons
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been without a home base in the UK ever since they decided to air the royal fold's dirty laundry. However, it seems the couple, especially the Duke of Sussex, still has a soft spot for the British Isles. It makes sense, given that many insiders have whispered that the Californian royals have been losing touch with their Hollywood pals. Earlier this year, Grant Harrold, who used to work for King Charles, told the New York Post that Prince Harry has been on the hunt for a UK home for a while.
It looks like, however, the Duke has his fair share of hurdles to jump over on his path to making a comeback in his home country.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle vacated their Frogmore Cottage in 2023, shortly after the release of the memoir, Spare. Although the Sussexes had a secret hideaway, they had to leave it behind too due to a surge in media intrusion. Since then, Prince Harry has been on the lookout for a permanent home for his family to stay in whenever they visit the UK. However, it seems their UK move has been put on ice for the time being, "until the security issues have been ironed out”, as per a source’s statement to the Express.
Prince Harry is currently fighting for his taxpayer-funded security arrangements with the Home Office to be resolved after he lost his High Court case against the government earlier this year. This legal battle has been ongoing since 2020 after the Sussexes were stripped of their police protection privileges with their royal exit. To make matters even worse, Prince Harry’s US visa has also come under threat because of the same reasons that led him to lose the 17th-century English country house.
There is, however, still one country where the couple might find refuge if both the UK and the US turn their backs on the Sussexes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently facing the threat of losing both the UK and the US as their homes. However, there is one country that might still welcome the polarizing couple. Last month, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine that “Canada would look kindly on” the Californian royals if things went south.
The expert, however, also questioned whether America would actually take the drastic step of booting the Prince out of the country. “Lawyers would find some way around it,” said Bond. Still, the royal commentator was sure that this whole mess has caused unnecessary headaches and embarrassment for the Duke of Sussex. Now, with their UK home search on hold, the Sussex family’s living situation is on even shakier ground.
