The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are keeping multiple things afloat. From starting a family in America to breaking ties, the two are the definition of a power couple. Not one to sit back after the record-breaking run of their docuseries, Harry & Meghan,  Meghan Markle, and Prince Harry are all set to release their limited series, Heart of Invictus, this month. Scheduled for August 30. But businesses aside, the family has had rocky extended ties.

As the couple navigates through their strained extended family relationships, Markle has been adamant about maintaining her distance. On the other hand, Prince Harry shares a soft spot for his father, King Charles.

A long-due private father-son talk without Meghan Markle?

The Duke and Duchess retreated to California after breaking up with their Royal status. Ever since then, Markle has maintained her distance from the UK, skipping King Charles’s coronation altogether. But for all his complaints, Prince Harry still relented. Therefore, hopes for a reconciliation of the father and son heightened. But it is only months after the coronation that fans have received good news. According to an insider source as reported by The Mirror, King Charles and Prince Harry are to meet for “peace talks.”

The Prince is scheduled to fly back to California after the Invictus Games. He was reportedly going to make a quick stop in London after September 16, coinciding with King Charles’ return from Balmoral. The King even rescheduled his visit to France by a few days, to keep a window open for London around the same time as Prince Harry.

Not only will this be the father and son’s first personal meeting after the Duke’s book Spare, but also a more intimate one than the Coronation. The peace talks poignantly arrive months before King Charles and his son share their birthday, and maybe more this time.

Can this birthday bring back for Prince Harry, his father?

The public feud between the families came at the expense of many things. Not only did it cause stress and emotional pain to Markle, depriving Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet of their royal grandparents, but also breaking off Prince Harry from his family.

Given how the Duke has expressed the lengths of self-discovery that he has unlocked in the United States, perhaps he may be willing to actually rekindle his broken relationship with his father. With how Markle is rekindling her old friendships with her new age, it is not too far-fetched of a suggestion for Prince Harry.
