Prince Harry Accuses MGN of Industrial Scale Destruction of Evidence
Two days into the court proceedings and Prince Harry continued his cross-examination on Wednesday. The Duke is one of the four who’ve faced serious issues because of the British tabloids. Having survived the hard wire act of the second day at court, he was seen holding back his years towards the end of the testimony. Nonetheless, the only driving force in his single-handed war has been his wife, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. The Duke claimed that all of this is to protect his wife from the abuse and stop the intrusion.
Prince Harry, during the trial, was repeatedly asked to provide “hard evidence“ to support his claims against the MGN, reported Independent. However, he couldn’t provide it by stating how the use of burner phones leaves no records. He further accused the publication of large-scale destruction of evidence. During the questioning, Prince said that “There was an industrial scale of destruction of evidence” by MGN. He further believes the phone hacking was on an industrial scale of at least three of the papers at the time and that is beyond doubt. These three institutions were named, The Daily Mirror, the Sunday Mirror, and Sunday People.

The Duke charged Morgan, who was the editor of the Mirror between 1995-2004 of blagging and personal attacks, which Morgan has always denied. He even recalled a memory in which he claimed that he found a tracking device in his ex-girlfriend’s car when the couple was on a trip to South Africa. He insisted that it was placed there by a private investigator by the name of Mike Behr, who was also accused of targeting the prince on different occasions.
What was the Publisher’s reply to Prince Harry?
The Prince told the court that this phone hacking and the invasion of privacy started when he got a phone and since then has continued till now which is almost 15 years. After giving his statements, the Prince stayed to watch the questioning of the mirror’s assistant editor- Jane Kerr. In her witness statement, Ms. Kerr said that she knew what she was doing, but it was never unlawful by any means. She also claimed to have appointed a few agencies that would provide her with the phone numbers to make newspaper headlines.
