Reese Witherspoon is one of the most popular leading ladies in Hollywood right now. But apart from her acting endeavors, she is also a celebrated producer. She, along with her friend Jennifer Aniston, are executive producers of The Morning Show whose second season recently garnered praises left and right. From acting to their costumes, the show definitely ticked all the boxes right, leaving fans wanting more. While Witherspoon seems to be done with the show now, there seems to be something else waiting for her.

After a successful run on the show, the actress is all set to team up with her co-star Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt for an upcoming project. And the project is said to be about the pop sensation, Britney Spears.

Brad Pitt and Reese Witherspoon team up for a Britney Spears project

Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, according to The Ankler, are in the running to create Britney Spears’ bombshell biopic on her recently released memoir, The Women in Me. Though the project will not happen soon, as insiders reported due to a lot of interest, it is still in the early stages.

The New York best seller is based on the ‘Criminal’ singer’s romantic life and her fame and contains intricate details about her 13 years of conservatorship. This made Spears join the club of a few authors who sold their memoirs quickly, hitting the one million mark. One of them was Prince Harry’s memoir Spare which even got its name in the Guinness World Record for the fastest selling nonfiction. However, until Spears’ memoir also gets her name into Guinness, she has A-listers competing to get the rights to it.

Given the inherent facts it contains about the musical sensation, the rush to produce the memoir is reasonable. However, Pitt and Witherspoon are not the only celebrities interested in producing the memoir.

Britney Spears’ biography The Women in Me was an instant success upon its debut on October 24. Ever since, numerous celebrities expressed an interest in working on an adaptation of the same. While Witherspoon and Pitt are one, it also includes the name of Barbie fame, Margot Robbie. Through her LuckyChap Productions, the actress hoped to adapt the chapters of the memoir.

Even American television producer Shonda Rhimes was also rumored to be in the race for the rights. However, PageSix sources revealed how she is not chasing after the same. The producer also wrote the screenplay for Crossroads, a 2002 film that also marked the pop sensation’s acting debut. Though Spears has already postponed a meeting with a ‘top producer’ as per sources, fans will have to wait who will land the project.
