“Possible adaptation…”- Sydney Sweeney Gives a Soft Agreement for a Possible Dystopian Book Adaptation
Sydney Sweeney could be going back to her dystopian ways. After taking over social media with promotions for her latest rom-com, Anyone But You, the actress seems to be ready to move on to her next project. While she might already have a few projects in progress, they will not hold her back from pursuing a role that she wants. Now, after the hype for her film died down, the actress ended up teasing fans about a potential book adaptation.
While it came as no surprise that Sweeney loved her books and reading time, the 26-year-old’s best read of 2023 could eventually turn into something much bigger.

In an episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, Sydney Sweeney opened up about how her 2023 was. After being asked about what would classify as a good book to her, she ended up giving fans insight into her favorite book of the year, Klara and the Sun, by Kazuo Ishiguro. Right after she talked about how much she adored the book, the host added, “There we go, possible adaptation there.”
Sweeney laughed along and jokingly agreed. The actress also gave fans some insight into how she chose to work on book adaptations. She stated that working on an adaptation depended on whether the book or script had interested her or could be twisted into something different. While there are no solid plans for a “possible adaptation” of Ishiguro’s book, the actress teased the possibility of creating one after revealing that it was the best book she had read.
While the world might have to wait to see what could become of Sweeney’s dystopian film career, she already has one such series in her portfolio.

Before Sydney Sweeney shot to fame on Euphoria, the actress had already given the world her breakthrough project. It was the dystopian 5 season series, The Handmaid’s Tale. With a storyline that focused on the Second American Civil War and a society that subjected fertile women to child-bearing slavery, the series was not for the weak-hearted. However, the actress’s role as Eden cast her into the spotlight.
While it would be amazing to see Sweeney come back to her dystopian roots, fans will have to wait and see whether it could eventually end up happening.
