Now that Deadpool & Wolverine is under the MCU’s umbrella, there is no telling what could happen next. The possibilities are endless for MCU fans, who are sure to be on the edge of their seats. One of the possibilities is potential crossovers within the universe. There has been plenty of chatter suggesting that Deadpool might, in the not-too-distant future, join forces with the Avengers or become their worst nightmare. However, it seems Hugh Jackman has been putting some serious thought into potential crossovers in the MCU.

Well before the 2024 movie’s release, the actor recently gave away the one MCU hero he and Deadpool would love to partner with, for reasons that are just downright hilariously devious. 

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds appeared for an interview with Marvel Thailand where they were asked which MCU hero they would like to have on their team. To this, Ryan Reynolds shared that he would "love to play with Spider-Man," the Tom Holland version. Reynolds wanted the team-up because Spider-Man always "gets right back up," no matter how hard he gets hit. But Hugh Jackman had another hilariously mischievous reason. "That would be cool. And he’s young, we could pile on him, and abuse him", said Jackman.

Ryan Reynolds also teased that, knowing the nature of Deadpool, he would try to be a part of the Avengers because he "wants to matter". Jackman's pick for an Avengers team-up, however, was Hulk. The Logan star voiced the same wish to Screenrant, where he confessed he is "terrified" of Hulk. But he was not looking to have Hulk as a rival; he was hoping to have him on his side to tip the scales in his favor. Nevertheless, there is a theory that hints Jackman’s fantasy of teaming up with Hulk might not be in the cards.

In fact, Jackman might end up confronting his greatest nightmare of having Hulk on the opposing team. 

In May, YouTuber Aman Sinha dropped a huge theory on SuperSuper about what is coming in the MCU with Deadpool & Wolverine. He pointed out that the Hulk’s bed scene in the initial trailer might be a big giveaway that Hulk could make an appearance in the movie. Sinha even suggested that Hulk might end up being the main villain, especially since the teasers hint that the version of Wolverine in the 2024 movie is from Earth #807128.

The trailer’s hints about traveling between dimensions, meeting the Void, and general chaos in the world all support this idea. Also, there are nods to Old Man Logan’s story, like the presence of Giant Man’s skull. Plus, the road trip Deadpool and Wolverine go on is similar to the journey in Old Man Logan, where Wolverine and Hawkeye hit the road to settle things with Hulk. Whether Hugh Jackman piles on Spider-Man as Wolverine or Hulk sends him flying is something only time will tell.
