Coupled with Netflix, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have made for a formidable nemesis to the royal household. Facing a series of daunting exposes unleashed at them over the past few years, the royal family has maintained a tight-lipped manner of dealing with attacks from the Sussexes and Netflix alike. But true to form, Piers Morgan has not missed a chance to give his two cents on all royal happenings.

The tell-all Netflix show, Harry and Meghan, had fans and critics glued to their screens upon its release in 2022. Recognizing its reach, the Hollywood Critics Association declared it as a nominee for the 2023 HCA TV Awards for the Best Streaming Non-fiction Series category. Having picked up on this, the Talk TV host took to his favorite mouthpiece, Twitter, to send the Duke and Duchess a message.

Recently, the journalist has restricted most of his jabs to the online battleground of Twitter, where he has garnered a following of 8.5 million. Unable to resist this chance to publicly humiliate the Sussexes, Morgan tweeted his congratulations saying they had been nominated for “trashing their families on TV.”

Prince Harry brought a lawsuit against the Mirror News Group, which specifically mentions allegations of illegal activity against Piers Morgan. Clearly, the Duke’s actions did not seem to have deterred the media tycoon’s intentions to chastise the couple and may have, in fact, further fuelled his rage. But many forget that the 58-year-old broadcaster was once quite chummy with the couple, especially the former Suits actor. This clearly makes one wonder what Markle and the Prince did back then to upset this notorious journalist.

Markle reportedly cut down communication on all fronts when their privacy was being invaded back in 2019. This led Morgan to feel that she had “ghosted” him. As the Sussexes began to fight back against the ruthless media attacks against Markle, Good Morning Britain’s host got increasingly disparaging of the couple. Post Megxit in 2020, the souring friendship started haunting the Duke and Duchess like never before.

After the infamous Oprah interview, Morgan immediately took to his show to say he “did not believe a word” of what the couple revealed, including Meghan Markle’s struggles with mental health. After a barrage of criticism from viewers and co-workers, Morgan was removed from his position on the show. This setback didn’t slow down the controversial journalist who has continued to berate the couple, calling them names like ‘mudslinger’, ‘traitor’, ‘whiny’, and ‘spoiled brats’.
