With the Oscars red carpet swarming in with big-impact artists across the globe, questions are looking for answers. However, not all answers can suffice the appetite of the audience and one such revelation came affront from the Oscar-nominee Jodie Foster. As Variety posed the question to Foster regarding True Detective, her inclusion, and its take here onwards, Foster cleared her way with a red nod hinting at her negative reprisal for the crime series.

Even though she has her reasons for the crime series being an “anthology” and has fulfilled her part, it might not recur anymore in the show. However, for fans worldwide, this news might not be the best starter for the Oscar hours as it broke very many hearts at once. 

Keeping in consideration how True Detective has been renewed for a fifth season, this question could have hardly escaped Foster. As fans did contemplate for the longest time if Foster’s return was in play to hop back for the next season, her weighing on the possibility of negativity was quite disrupting.

However, that is not all the upset the Oscars delivered this year regarding Jodie Foster.

First, with her revelation for not recurring in True Detective and the next by not making it for the Oscar’s winning chart despite her nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Nyad. Not only that, but this snub led to a shattering recreation 48 years later from her first Oscar miss.

Along with Foster, the man who was a sufferer of the lows in equal for this unfortunate recreation was Robert de Niro. Both led the 1976 Oscar nominations for Taxi Driver despite not winning any. As the audience held their breath for this Oscar to rewrite the pages of history, a similar show of fate turned around the event. However, even without any wins, the Oscar ceremony did bear witness to a larger-than-life display of respect for the stars in mention. Hence, good news or not, some losses never define actors.
