Matthew McConaughey recently appeared on an episode of the famous podcast SmartLess. In his interview, the 53-year-old talked about many things he learned from his life and dwelled on his childhood. The American star recalled one instance when his mom forced him to enter a poem competition. He revealed she told him to write his name under an Anne Ashford poem. Though he first did not agree to do it, his mother stated the point that he understood it and that all mattered at that point.

“I signed my name under and won the seventh grade poetry contest, early AI plagiarism,” added the Interstellar star. Well, less the actor knew then, one day there would be technology that would help people write everything. But unlike his innocent plagiarism to come first at a competition, the latest one has been costing people their careers.

In July, this year paparazzi photographed Matthew McConaughey in Alabama making a movie, The Rivals of Amziah King. The actor was holding an instrument in hand alongside his team. The crime thriller was actually an independent project written and directed by Andrew Patterson. So, as per the approval list of SAG-AFTRA, they were allowed to carry on with the production while the other major projects continued to be delayed.

As of now, they have kept the plotline of the film under wraps, but it is mainly character-focused, set against the unique backdrop of remote Oklahoma. McConaughey has taken the lead role in the movie playing the titular character Amziah King.
