Bradley's book Blood Runs Coal: The Yablonski Murders and the Battle for the United Mine Workers of America. According to Deadline, Cillian Murphy is getting ready to lead this epic film, titled Blood Runs Coal. It is set in the late 1960s in the Pennsylvania coal mines and unravels one of the most notorious crimes in labor history.

In the upcoming movie, Murphy will take on the role of Chip Yablonski, the son of a shady union leader who takes out a competitor. But Murphy is not just acting in it but also calling the shots as a producer. Plus, Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth are on board to pen the script for the next big hit. On top of this crime drama, the 47-year-old is also in talks to revive his unforgettable character as a notorious gangster.

 “We’re shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth,” said the filmmaker. While Shelby was once arguably Murphy’s most iconic role, he has just had a major career highlight with Christopher Nolan’s historical epic. Now, with Blood Runs Coal, Murphy will once again show why he is the king of this dark, intense genre.
